The last week (well 4 days) home was fun but Jennifer always felt that this is my last day Monday, this is my last Tuesday and so on. The boys didn't know what was going on and I didn't stress them out by saying this is mommy's last days home. We played and as you can see below had some good days....and good smiles!! I put Joel in the Jumperoo to see how he like it, he did like it but poor guys feet didn't even touch the floor!!! A few more weeks and they'll be ready for stuff like that.
Sophie has been such a good sport ever since the boys came home. At first she did hiss at them in hopes that they would go away but since she has realized that they are here to stay and has come to love them. They were out at Nana and Papa's house and their cat Sam walked by the boys and Sophie ran over to them sitting in their bouncy seats and hissed at Sam to get away from the boys...she is so protective!!
Just today Jackson was laying on the floor and Sophie went up to him and laid beside him and Jackson happened to get his hand close to her and had his hand on her head and she just laid there...so cute!!!
Jennifer's youngest brother is a senior in high school and plays football along with every other sport....so we'll all be going to a lot of his events this year. A couple weeks ago we took the boys to his football game and they have another game this Friday that we'll all go to as well. These cute pictures are of them at the football game, we had them bundled up since it was cold out.
Mommy and Nana (Jen's mom) went to the Multiples Garage Sale the day before the game and got these cute hats and mittens and a bunch of other stuff, it was a good time and Nana got a lot of things to have at her house for the boys.Jackson with Daddy
We bought these cute longsleeve onesis that have a little face and say Baby A and Baby B since the doctors called them Baby A and Baby B when they were in the womb. Jennifer put them on them and they were already too small!!! So mommy did a photo shoot with them and then put them away!!!Jackson & Joel
The boys love to lay on their tummies and because we put them on their tummies so often they are so strong and will hopefully start crawling sooner!!! Some cute pictures and a family picture below.Family...Mommy and Joel, Daddy and Jackson
We all went to JC Penny to have 2 month old pictures taken of the boys and a family picture. At this time we also wanted to have a picture of boys in their Halloween costumes...they are going to be pea pods...so cute!!!
The boys were 2 months old on September 25th. They had to go to their 2 month doctors appointment and the poor little guys had to get their shots. Jackson weighed 11 pounds 7 ounces and was 23.25 inches long and Joel weighed 10 pounds 10 ounces and was 22.25 inches long. They were really tired after all their shots and slept most of the afternoon. Mommy gave them some Tylenol for a couple days to help with the pain if they were in any but they were great!!! We can't believe how big they are getting. They smile a lot and have really started talking and responding to mommy and daddy's voices. They love to play peek-a-boo and patty-cake. Here are some cute pictures of them.Joel and Jackson
Jennifer loves to cuddle with the boys and its not often that I'm in a picture with them...she's always the one taking pictures of them!! The boys have really started watching the TV as well. Jackson will watch and fall asleep but Joel will sit there all day if Jennifer let him and he won't sleep when he's in front of it we have to turn him away from it!!Mommy and Joel
Our Ladies Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Ankeny. The baptism was after the 10:30 mass on Sunday. Jackson and Joel did great!! We fed them at 11 and by time the baptism came around they were sleeping and pretty much slept through the whole thing!! They both jumped a little when all the water was put on their heads. We had Jennifer's Aunt Ann Gander be the godmother and Jon's cousin Corey Schoenfelder be the godfather for the boys.
After the baptism we went to Nana and Papa's house for lunch. We grilled pork chops and pork steak and just all hung out and held babies!!
Jon and I got married December 16, 2006, and we have identical twin boys that were born July 25, 2008; Jackson John and Joel Jeffery. We also have fraternal twin girls, Julianne Jane & Jocelyn Jo who were born May 16, 2011. Hopefully this blog will keep everyone up to date with what is going on in our busy lives!
My full-time job...wife to my best friend and mom to identical twin boys and fraternal twin girls and a stay-at-home mommy, the best job there is! I also have a small photography business that is my passion! Being a mommy and a wife bring me great joy and I thank God everyday that I'm able to have such a wonderful family.
Jon a.k.a. Dada
By day Jon works as a salesman for Barton Solvents a chemical distributing company in Des Moines. When he isn't being a daddy he loves to work outside, hang out with friends and family and chase 4 little kids around the house until they laugh so hard they fall over! His favorite time of year...football season. His team of choice...the Iowa Hawkeyes of course. 9th year in a row as a season ticket holder!!
Jackson a.k.a Jacks
Baby A as he was known for 38 weeks. Now he is an independent, smart and kind 5 year old. He loves Pre-K and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and doing all sorts of coloring and crafts. He is the helper and could be outside all day no matter the time of year!
Joel a.k.a. Joely
Known as Baby B for 38 weeks. Now he is 5 years old and our most laid back child! He LOVES to play with his Power Rangers or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and loves to draw and color. Joel loves books and Pre-K and doing his weekly homework. He is very protective of his sister and such a great big brother!
Julianne a.k.a Jewels
Julianne was also known as Baby A for 38 weeks. Now she is the queen of the group! She loves all things girly and hasn't found a stuffed animal she doesn't love! Julianne loves to play dress up and snuggle with her mama. Jewels loves her brothers but would rather play with Minnie Mouse or all things "girly" than with the other kids!
Jocelyn a.k.a Jossy
Jocelyn was also known as Baby B for 38 weeks. She is the "tom boy" and LOVES to keep up with her brothers, including having a favorite toy as her Power Ranger. She will play dress up with her sister but the minute her brothers come around she's after them and can hold her own against them too! She is the peanut of the bunch and SUCH a daddy's girl she would choose snuggling, reading, playing horsey or simply following him around over anyone else!
