A visit...

from Grandpa, Grandma & Aunt Janna brought these....
St. Louis Cardinals t-shirts!
{Jackson & Joel}
They were in St. Louis a week ago, and went to a Cardinals game along with some other fun stuff while Grandpa was working down there.
When they came up we all had the oh so yummy Clipper tacos and hung out at our house. While the boys played, giggled and ran around like crazy guys!
Jackson showed off all his new Sesame Street characters
And he even snuggled with daddy
Grandpa, Grandma & Aunt Janna also got them little soft St. Louis Cardinals baseballs. Daddy hid Jackson's under his shirt and he thought it was pretty funny!
Grandpa chased them around the house...
snuggled Elmo....
And had some snuggle time with Aunt Janna...
And Grandma before they left. We had a fun night and thank you all for the Cardinals t-shirts and baseballs!

Fatherhood Friday's

While the girls are away the boys will play!
And play is what we did!!

Last weekend was girls weekend but the guys called it boys weekend. I dropped the boys off at daycare on Friday and picked them up after work and it was Daddy Daycare until about 2 on Sunday. To say that we had a good time wouldn’t be enough. We had a blast playing outside all day and just messing around doing "boy" stuff. We went over to our neighbor Andy’s and helped him put up shelves in his garage. The boys were so good just sitting in there playing with toys and our tools. After the boys went to bed it was just the guys and we got shelves up at our other neighbor Bryce’s house and had a few cocktails.

Saturday morning came early and we went back over to Andy’s and helped him put up 2 more shelves. We went home and ate some lunch and tired to cool off since it was pretty warm. That night we went over to Andy’s and had pizza and played. We later moved over to Bryce’s to give all the kids a new surrounding and new toys to play with. They all loved it over there and Jackson wouldn’t put the toy vacuum down. After the kids went to bed we had our first deck night of the year. I am sure there will be more of those to come.

Sunday morning again came early. It was really hot on Sunday so we decided to call it "Shirtless Sunday" at the our house and we had no shirts allowed! Of course Momma did want to play our game, her loss! But all and all we had a great time with just the guys at the Waters house. I also think that the girls had a great time in Minneapolis. Have a great and safe Memorial weekend and enjoy the pictures I took while Jen was gone.

{This is one of Jackson's favorite things to do, empty out all the blocks, get in and want to be pulled around the house, oh and eat his snacks in there!}

{Joel watching Sesame after waking up}

Oh and yes, Jackson got a huge "ouuuch" on his head while Jen was gone. This one doesn't bother him as much as the one on his knee that he got. Although the one on the head is bigger, the one on his knee he can SEE and that's a HUGE problem!!

{Jackson's ouch}

{Jackson riding Brady's little 4 wheeler...these are definitely on the birthday list this year, they love them!}

Can you guess....

....what has Joel sooo excited?
{Daddy and Jackson looking out at Mama}
Yes, this was one of my IKEA purchases and I knew the boys would be sooo excited about it because they LOVE the tunnel that we have for them but thought this would be fun to sit in and giggle like they like to do with each other when they play!
Jackson and Jon sat in it, yes Jon can even fit in it with them, and played and watched Sesame Street. Jackson and Joel both love to copy however Jon is laying on the floor so Jackson is copying him in the picture above.
{Joel & Daddy}
This tent will be the center of lots of fun to come! So far its a great place to hide out, eat snacks, watch Sesame Street, trap Sophie the cat in, and listen to the boys giggle like little girls as they play inside!

GIRLS WEEKEND...Minneapolis Style!!

We left on Friday around 1:30 and headed to Minneapolis to hit up IKEA! We zoomed through IKEA picking up a few things and then checked into the hotel around 6:00ish and then went to TGI Fridays for dinner and hit up Trade Joe's, a place I've been dying to get to! When we got back to the hotel we cracked open 1 of our 6 bottles of wine and had lots of girl talk! We woke up Saturday morning and Ashley, Mindy and I worked out and then after breakfast the 4 of us headed to the spa in Maple Grove for our massages and pedicures. Oh they were wonderful and afterwards we were all ready to shop until we dropped! After 6 hours and 4 girls this was our damage!

We relaxed after shopping and drank the other 5 bottles of wine and got all dolled up for our cab that picked us up at 7:30 to head downtown Minneapolis to Fogo de Chao. And wow....what an AMAZING place to eat! The service was impeccable and the food was even better and what a great experience! $90 for dinner was well worth it!! Great idea for dinner hubbys! After dinner we asked where we should go for a great time and after a number of random people telling us to go to Seven, that's where we went!! There were 4 floors and we hung out on the roof around the bar drinking and having a great night out! We got our cab and headed back home and went to bed around 11:30. We would've have loved to stay out longer but after another $74 for 8 drinks we decided it was time to go back to the hotel!

{Jenn, Mindy, Ashley, Meggie}
Sunday we woke up around 8:30, showered and ate breakfast and headed out around 9:45 to stop at the Nike outlet in Medford. We were there for about 20 minutes and then headed back home. We were all sooo excited to get home to our kids and hubbys and to tell them about the great weekend we had thanks to them!
Jon, Jackson & Joel...thank you sooo very much for a great weekend in Minneapolis with the girls. We had a fabulous time and were so happy to be able to spend the weekend together shopping and getting pampered. Ashley, Meggie and Mindy, I had a great time and thank you for all the laughs and a great time! Thank you again for the great Mother's Day gift boys!

Last year we found a sandbox on Craigslist and got it for the boys to play with this year. Jon got a few bags of sand and filled it up last night. The boys (Joel below) were playing with their sidewalk chalk as we were filling it up. They weren't sure what to think of this new thing to play with!
Joel immediately put his hands in it....
Jackson continued to play with chalk, uninteressted in the sandbox.
I told Joel to take his shoes off and put his feet in, he didn't like that at all and went back to just feeling it!
Jackson was very concerned with the sand on his hand and showed me and said "oooo ick!"
Joel then preceeded to throw it everywhere and make Jon mad cause it was getting in grass!
But he was having sooo much fun!!
Jackson still just wanted to play with sidewalk chalk
And Joel kept inspecting every little piece of the sand. It was so cute and I loved just sitting and watching him!
Sandbox, a good idea or not? It will probably be a better idea when we do their big playset this summer with the sandbox under the deck/platform that will all be surrounded by pea rock/rubber chips!

Fatherhood Friday's

Well I'm back this week and just in time to tell you all how excited I am about this weekend! If you talk to my wife or the other women of the neighborhood they would tell you how excited THEY are for their trip to Minneapolis for a girls weekend. Now, if you ask us men of the neighborhood we would say that WE'RE excited for a guys weekend without the wives around!

I'm so excited for a weekend with just me & Jackson & Joel! The boys are so different when mama isn't around. They will sit down eat all their dinner, listen when I tell them to stop and not be babies all the time. When she's around they only want her, want to sit on her lap, and just act like babies and not fun little toddlers! This weekend is going to be great outside which is a plus for us. We can do so much stuff when it is nice out. We'll probably go on some walks, play on the slides out back, do random yard work, write on the sidewalk with chalk and maybe get some ice cream if they are good or I am hungry for some, which I'm sure I will be! I want the girls to have a good time and I had to stress to my wife that this is a vacation and not a shopping spree! Which 4 girls, going to a HUGE mall and IKEA probably not much good can come from that! I told her the boys have plenty of clothes, I have plenty of clothes, she has plenty of clothes, and our house is all decorated so she should just be able to relax and have a great time! I will have to let you know how that goes next week after she gets back. Everyone have a great weekend!

Love Jon/DADYYYYYYYYY (as Jackie puts it!)

I have NEVER seen any kids who love fruit more than my guys! Jon and I both say that the reason they do is because that is ALL I ate when I was pregnant! We went to the store sometimes twice a week to get a watermelon and cantaloupe and Jon would cut it up and I'd eat almost a container a day!

Since Jackson & Joel could eat REAL solid food we've been giving them frozen blueberries and red raspberries and now that it's summer they are in heaven with all the cantaloupe, watermelon and strawberries! Every night when we get home they run to the fridge, I open the door, they open the drawer that the fruit is in and take out their containers of fruit and run to the livingroom to eat it. They are really pretty good about not spilling which I'm happy about since I have a cream area rug in the livingroom! They love to sit on their stools or the enterway system and gobble fruit down like its going out of style! When it was warm out, we'd sit on the front step and eat it, we'll get back to that now that the weather has decided to warm up!! I'm sooo thankful that these two love fruit as much as they do.

{Jackson & Joel} {Jackson}
{An empyt bowl...oh NO! That's when they come running and say "all gone, more!"
{Joel} {Jackson} {Jackson}
{Joel...he'd been crying because I wouldn't let him fill his bowl to the top with canteloupe!} {Jackson & Joel}

I love these two fruit eaters so much and I guess if all they want for supper some nights its fruit that is better than nothing and some of the snacks they could be eating!!
