the boys

Jackson and Joel are enjoying being home with me everyday. Every morning they still get up and say, "No Lori's house". I'm really glad that they are also adjusting their sleep time as well. When we'd take them to daycare we'd have to wake them up at 6AM, after 4 weeks of being home they are FINALLY sleeping in until 7:30! This goes for the weekend too and we both enjoy that! They are such my little helpers during the day, I can't tell you how many times I hear, "Mama I help, I hold my bowl" or "I do it, I can pour, I can get my milk out of the fridge".
{Jackson and Joel helping me make cupcakes}

They also have their not so good moments. I don't know how many times daily I tell them to keep their hands off each other, stop pulling his shirt, don't push him into the couch, don't pick up his trains and take off running, JUST STOP! It goes on and on! I've really noticed that they will push everything I say to the limit and some days I yell WAY more than I'd care to admit but I'm really trying to tell them that their behavior isn't acceptable preschool behavior and all they get out of that is "school mama". So we're trying and in the meantime I continue to take their precious trains away when they don't listen, they nap in separate rooms and sit in timeout as forms of punishment.
{Joel eating his beloved sweet corn} The boys have really enjoyed the crafts we do too. They love to water paint, I haven't braved the actual paint yet, they love coloring, and playing with playdough. They have collected lots of pinecones and I have pipecleaners and google eyes so we need to make some sort of fun creature. There just isn't enough hours in the day to do all the fun stuff!

{Jackson and Joel} I'm very impressed with their behavior when we go on our errands. I don't know if it's that I've threatened them so much that if they dare act up there will be harsh consequences or that they are finally understanding how to act in the stores but they hold on to the baby carriers when we walk into the stores and just don't take off running, they will either stand on the cart as I push the girls hold on to the cart with one hand and walk, or walk behind the cart. The best compliment has been hearing people say, "wow you have your hands full but your boys are really well behaved" I say, "thank you" and think to myself if they really saw how they behave at home some days they wouldn't be saying that!

{Jackson}Finally both of the boys still nap for at least 2 hours a day, I know they'd nap longer if I let them but when I have it takes them forever to go to bed at night. I'll be holding onto nap time for as long as I can with them. I sure love that quiet time in the house and time to myself!

A fun day....

We had a pool day on the farm last weekend and it was a good time! Besides of course swimming the boys got lots of rides on Papa's tractors. The girls did a lot of this.... {Julianne} {Jocelyn} They also experienced their first time in the pool! At 88 degrees it felt like bath water!

{Mama and Julianne} The boys had their "monsters" on and were jumping in and going under all by themselves! They had a blast! {Daddy and Jocelyn, Mama and Julianne} Family picture in the pool! {Julianne}

{Daddy and Jocelyn} {Joel and Jackson jumping and falling off rafts} We celebrated my brother's birthday too....he had LOTS of help blowing out his candles!

A fun day with everyone there and looking forward to many more this summer!

2011 Mother of Multiples Picnic

The Mother's of Multiples Picnic was a success again this year and it wasn't 90 degrees like it was last year! We had a fun time chatting and the kids had a blast playing at the park.

{Joel coming down the slide}

The boys LOVED the wading pool and wanted to spend a lot of time there

Can't wait!

The boys are excited to see Cars 2! And doesn't this guy look exactly like Tow Mater?!

{Joel & Jackson}This will be their first movie in the theatre. I was hoping to take them tonight when it premiered but we are going to take the girls (I'm sure they will sleep the whole time or watch the bright lights on the screen) when we go and decided it probably isn't best to take them on the very first night it opens....better wait for a less busy night or for a daytime showing when the theatre isn't packed and we can move around if we need to.

one month old

I'm a little late on this...last Thursday the girls were 1 month old! I must say that all kids grow up way too fast but it goes even faster when you already have kids and then add more to the mix! I feel like the girls were just born yesterday!

{Julianne and Jocelyn} {Julianne} {Jocelyn} At one month old you Julianne weigh 7lbs. 5oz. and Jocelyn weigh 6lbs. 15oz.

......both are getting sooo good at holding your head up. You do great for a few seconds and then it falls either forward or back

.....both like to do a little tummy time, but not for long! to nurse and eat like little champs

....don't mind all the adorable headbands I put on you to sit in either your bouncy seat or swing and just listen and take in the sounds around you, usually your brothers talking!

....are very attentive after you eat and then like to sleep for about an hour before the next feeding

.....wake up once in the night to eat, usually around 2 which is 5 hours from when you ate the time before

.....have quickly found out which one of you will and won't take a pacfier, Jocelyn you won't and that's ok because you soothe yourself way better than your sister does

....neither of you care for your carseats which makes the first few minutes of car rides very loud and stroller rides almost impossible at this age to sleep all swaddled up like a little burrito your daddy says

....Julianne we call you Julis (pronounced jewels) and Jocelyn we call you either Joss or Joce ( pronounced Josie)

....Julianne you make sooo many scary and funny facial expressions that we sometimes call you "the bear" as in "don't wake the bear!" and Jocelyn since you're the baby of the group we will sometimes call you "peanut" or "little peanut"

Stop growing up so fast baby girls it really, really makes your mommy and daddy sad! We love you both so much!

...Jocelyn in her boppy too! ....boys watching the "choo choo" on the computer.....Julianne in her bouncy seat ....Jocelyn in her bouncy seat taking a nap ....Julianne helping mommy in the kitchen make lunch!
