Happy Halloween!!!

On Saturday night we headed to Night Eyes at the Blank Park Zoo...the boys had a good time but we didn't think it was all that great. Here is Joel the ghost and Jackson the witch...the boys just LOVE their costomes and for months now we'd been asking them what they wanted to be and they always said the same thing! Sunday afternoon we had visitors from my mom and dad and Jon's parents too. That was a great start to our Trick-or-Treat night! We then took supper over to my Grandma (she had hip replacement surgery a week and a half ago) and visited her and let her see the kiddos all dressed up! Julianne and Jocelyn weren't really anything. I had Halloween shirts with their names on them and matching tutus for them to wear. We then got back home and all headed out...minus the girls and I. It was sooo windy and cold!
{Joel (had to cut out the eyes so he could see better) Jackson, Brady and Luke} The kids had a blast running from house to house! Glad Jon took my camera to snap a few pictures of my ghost and witch!

Tonight we are headed up to Maxwell to visit my other grandma and get her famous popcorn balls! Can't wait!! Then we'll take the boys around to a few house and I'll go with them this time!

Hallonween Spirit

We are in the Halloween spirit around here! Here is Joel trying on part of Jackson's witch costume. Joel is going to be a ghost, I'm going to be finishing up his costume today! Yesterday, we painted pumpkins and they loved that! We'll carve our pumpkins probably Saturday night. They talked about the letter "P" and pumpkins this week at preschool and got to look at the inside of a pumpkin and touch and feel the seeds so when I told them we will carve our pumpkins later they started talking about the seeds! {Jackson & Joel...oh and yes they are in their jammies...we were lazy yesterday in that respect!}{Jackson} {Joel} Their finished pumpkins! And finally, we've had our Halloween decorations up since the beginning of September so here are some pictures of everything all decorated

Everyone have a fun and safe Halloween weekend!

Choo choo boxes

So it's no secret that my boys LOVE to paint, craft, color, you name it, they love it! Anyway, Jon randomly came up with this idea to turn a kleenex box into a "choo choo box". So one day the boys helped me cover the box in paper and add a funnel and wheels out of a toilet paper roll and then start painting!

{Jackson} {Joel and Jackson} {Joel really getting into it!} They had sooo much fun painting their boxes and they turned out super cute!

of course we had to add numbers on the sides like real choo choos!
What a easy and cheap craft, good thinking honey you are so creative!!

5 months

On Sunday our little princesses turned 5 months old! Wow that was a fast 5 months! I took them in for a weight check and Julianne is 14lbs. 9oz. and Jocelyn is 14lbs. even! She is catching up to her big sister!

{Julianne & Jocelyn}At 5 months Julianne:

*you can roll all over the place, you just started rolling last Friday. You totally skipped rolling the easy way from tummy to back and decided to roll from your back to your tummy first and then on Saturday you figured out the easy way. No there is no stopping you (as you can tell above) mama had a hard time capturing these pictures!

*you still refuse to eat cereal...that's ok you really don't need it right now, we will try again in another week or so

*you wish that your little brothers would entertain you more! You love when they give you the time of day, which is rarely, but when they do you are all smiles!

*you aren't the best night time sleeper these days, you want to wake up at 1 instead of 3 or 4 when your sister does and have a little snack, don't tell Jossy but mama sneaks you one, well you know, but I sneak you one while you are still swaddled up standing outside your crib nothing too long but it ties you over until your sister is finally ready to wake up

*you cry and when you do you want your paci or to be swaddled and then magically the world is all better.

*you sure like your naps! You eat and then about an hour later it is nap time, like clock work little miss!

At 5 months Jocelyn:

*you rolled over for the first time and stood up like a big girl at only 2 months old. Since then you have continued to roll from your tummy to your back. You are almost there from your back to your tummy but get your little arm stuck!

*you are such a calm baby and when I say you never cry, I mean, you never cry! Everything about you is calm, cool an collected!

*when you wake up to eat in the middle of the night, unlike your sister, I don't even know you are awake! I hear something moving around in your room and come in and your are so smiley, you'd never know it had been 6 or 7 hours since the last time you ate.

*you also refuse to eat any cereal. It's ok sweet girl, you'll get it eventually but for now you just let it sit in your mouth and smile until it all runs out!

*you are more awake during the day than your sister is. Sometimes you won't nap between feedings, you are just content hanging our in your swing, bouncy chair or on the floor while your sister naps (notice how she is more the demanding one)!

*you LOVE LOVE LOVE to stand! I think you are ready for your jumperoo or exersaucer, you would love them both!

Your daddy and I love you two so very much, we just wish you would stop getting so big, could you work on that?

Orchard Time

As I've mentioned before we bought a season pass to the Center Grove Orchard in Cambridge and it was one of the best things we did this fall. The boys LOVE LOVE LOVE it out there. I swear they could spend hours running back and forth through the 3 little pigs houses! I've taken all the kids up during the week more than a handful of times and it is the PERFECT time to go. Jon didn't get a chance to go out there with us last year so his first time was on a Sunday afternoon and boy was that miserable! There were WAAAYYY too many people there! The boys still had fun but didn't enjoy waiting in line since during the week they are usually the only ones on the jumping pillow and slide! But still had fun showing daddy all the fun stuff they do with mama when they go there. I'm hoping we can make it up there a few more times yet this year.

{They so bad wanted to peddle on these tractors but the peddles are just far enough away it is still hard for them to do it on their own...and hard for me to push them at the same time AND watch the babies!} {Jackson} {Joel} {Fun on the jumping pillow!} {There were a lot of preschools and schools filtering through a couple days when we were there, the boys loved looking at all the school buses and kept asking when they could ride on one!}{Sooo brave...I couldn't take them down the slide and again watch the babies...although I did a couple time when there weren't other people around...didn't want them to think I was just leaving 2 babies in a stroller unattended but the boys did great going down the super slide all on their own!}{Jackson} {Joel climbing the big hill to the top} {I did take Jossy down with me one day...she was awake and Julianne was asleep and the boys thought she needed a ride!}{Helping daddy milk the cow} {I think this picture is very fitting of Jon...the troll!} {Joel} {Jackson}{Jackson & Joel}{Roping the steer!} {The train isn't there during the week so the boys were very excited to ride it on the weekend when we were there}One thing about the weekend, people sure don't know how to dress when they go to an orchard! I saw girls/women/ladies (whatever) in fancy jeans with jewels on them, nice shoes or boots, pretty/fancy sweaters, definitely "city folk" trying to fit in on the "farm" it was funny. Definitely not the place for attire like that when its windy blowing the sand/dust around and crawling in corn with your kids or riding on bales of straw on the hay ride! {Joel going down with daddy}

{Train ride 3 of 4!} {Waving at us but not even looking!} We all love, love, love this orchard and I especially like the fudge that you can buy in the store! If you haven't ever gone and taken your kids...GO it's a fabulous time! I grew up going to this orchard as kid only that time it was called Black's. It is just a few miles from Maxwell and my parents house. And the owner, use to be one of our teachers in school, well now her son owns it but I sure love to see her out there working when we go, they sure have put in a lot of work to make it the place it is now!
