Trick-or-Treat 2013

Happy Halloween from Joel, Julianne, Jocelyn and Jackson!
Joel was Leonardo a Ninja Turtle, Julianne and Jocelyn were Minnie Mouse and Jackson was Rapheal a Ninja Turtle. After a visit from Grandma and Grandpa we headed into Maxwell and began our 2 hour Trick-or-Treat evening. The weather was PERFECT at 59 degrees and luckily the rain held off all night!
The girls had a blast and enjoyed it even more so this year than last year!
One of the churches in town had a street blocked off and had a "trunk or treat" and TONS of games, treats, prizes, hot chocolate and hot dogs for all the people and it was a GREAT idea, the kids loved it and we loved it was all in one area!!

Julianne and Jocelyn LOVED the "crazy cat lady"!!
And the scariest house had a spider and a man that chased the kids off the porch! It was great for them to get a little scare, they loved it!
After Trick-or-Treating we headed back to our house and Nana and Papa came out and helped put the kiddos to bed! What a great night had by all!!

Our NEW house!!

I know...I realize my last blog post was on September 12th but we have been SUPER busy doing some renovations to our new place! We put our house in Ankeny on the market the beginning of July and to our surprise it sold in only 19 days! We were sooo excited and ready to pursue our dreams of living in a smaller town in the country with some land of our own! We were lucky to find this acreage as we all know they don't stay for sale for very long as it seems EVERYONE is looking for some land in a small town! We moved out of our home in Ankeny on the 25th and have been living with my parents since! They've been so gracious to take us in as the buying process for us took A LONG TIME!!  We officially took possession on September 11th and since no one has lived in the house for almost a year there was A LOT of updating to do!! Until I post some pictures of the inside here is a view of our lovely new place!!
